Sarah Madeline Staffieri (Vernon, Bunting) 1980 - 2011
Recent 31/03/2016 I've only just recently learned the sad news of Sarah's passing back in 2011. I only knew Sarah for a very very short period of time, it was when she visited Northern Ireland back in the summer of 1996 with her friend (also called Sarah I think). Myself and some friends got talking to them one day and for the last week or so of their time here, we kind of just hung out most days talking and having a laugh. Sarah and I kept in contact briefly after she returned back home, and over the years I often wondered how she was getting on, what she was maybe working as or whether or not she was still in Gosport, that sort of thing. As I said, I didn't know Sarah for that long, but I am thankful for the short time I did have getting to know her, she was funny and friendly and I have fond memories of her. I'm really sorry for your loss. Kind Regards Gary Dunlop

Hey Dude, We all miss you so much already - Proud to have known you, and to have been your bridesmaid at the wedding of the year - (forget Will & Kate). Have so many fun memories of our time together including our trip to Brighton where we danced to Steps all night for some reason - and you had to pretend to be my girlfriend after I pulled! Also remember being late for our Red Hot Chili Peppers gig in Reading - Drinking beer on the train platform as we missed our connection and then having to get a taxi back to Pompey from Reading as we missed the train home! You were the best dancer, and from now on I will try harder to get on that dance floor a bit more often! Love you and will never forget you. Nats and Mark xxxx
Hi ya darling, There is so many happy memories that I will keep close to my heart. You were beautiful inside and out and made everyone who met you smile. Love you so much, Kerry xxx

Hey "Small"! (Radnowshire term of endearment!) Thanks for ironing for us (mostly Dillon's scientist shirts!) (now I'd say, what's ironing?!) when you were a weeny teen! And thanks for the use of your bed - on and off - whilst you were in China - and I dreaming of having been in China. What is lovely never dies but passes into other loveliness - stardust, sea-foam, flower, or wingéd air. Be lovely. Be happy. Plaxy x

Sarah was a lovely girl. I will always remember her when she was at Gomer School. I had lost Amy on her 6th birthday; she had been lost for some time. Sarah cycled up and down the footways until she found her walking off with a woman and cycled back breathless to say she'd found her. She was the bright light in my firmanent that day and I will never forget it. I'm glad she found love and got married even for so short a time and I send my love to Si who made her happy and wish him strength. Jo
Although her time was so short and she deserved so much more, Sarah managed to do the things that matter in life. She was independent, she has been in love and loved back, she travelled - she went to China for heaven's sake - and she was creative. It's a special thing to be the sort of person who can make something from nothing, to have the vision and feel the purpose, very few people can do it. And it means you can leave something real and unique behind, along with the memories. Maggie and Phil
We still remember with affection your stay with us when Sarah was a baby, and what a joy babysitting her was when she was a little older. I can remember visiting you and witnessing her enthusiasm and pleasure in learning to draw, and later still I can picture her in your front room talking about shoes. Jean and Ken
We hope all the special times with the lovely, sweet, funny, Sarah remain forefront in your hearts. Mary, Andrew, Jake and Tom
Sarah grew into a caring and beautiful young woman, who has been and still is, a special part of my life in her own right. Although, when me and Ella were very young, we didn't always see eye to eye with Sarah and had a full repertoire of ways to irritate her such as hiding her glasses and conspiring to read her diary, I felt jealous of Ella for having an older sister. When we were a bit older and a lot less childish, Sarah sometimes felt like the older sister I always wanted. I vividly remember her coaxing me out of the bedroom window and on to the kitchen roof, encouraging me, because I was scared of falling and I felt really grown up and sophisticated when I had done it. Sarah also introduced me to bands like Reef and Nirvana which I still listen to today. I think my best memory of Sarah would be after I moved to Kent and visited you one summer. I think I was around 14 or 15 and Sarah was probably 20 or 21 and we all went to a park - me, the four of you, Kimy and Sarah's boyfriend at the time whom I think was called Monkey. We had a picnic and played frisbee. Sarah showed me and Kimy how to throw the frisbee properly. Sarah looked stunning that day! She had on a short reddish dress, red always really suited her and she had her hair in two plaits. I remember she shocked us all by throwing the frisbee further than anyone else,. including Monkey! It almost travelled the full length of the park. I'll always remember that day. I felt so happy and to me Sarah was the epitome of cool and I wanted to grow up and be just like her. Amey
Sarah was such a vibrant and sweet person. Life is so cruel. She suffered and was very brave. I'm glad she had her wedding - She looked really lovely and was glowing with happiness that day. I remember Sarah well from her time at Shire when she threw herself enthusiastically into work and office life. Evelyn and Roger
She was a lovely girl and we will always remember her with happy thoughts. Her wedding day just a month earlier was such a heart warming occasion and something that we all will be able to cherish. Jim and Bev
Holding your hands through the darker steps of this dance that is, nevertheless one of celebration of Sarah, who dared live an adventurous and creatrive and courageous life. Plaxy
I have fond memories of Sarah, particularly as a little girl whan I first arrived in Gosport and she was always there at the peace group activities and on those trips to Greenham. She was such an interesting and original little girl. I am glad that she found love and happiness. Belinda
Lots of thoughts and love have been with you and will continue to be as you celebrate and remember such a lovely young lady as Sarah. I can still picture where she sat in my English class and what a very good student she was. It is a pleasure to have taught her. Carole
Although I didn't know her as an adult, I was delighted to hear, as her former art teacher, of her progress to college and about her shoe and bag designs and working in China. Above all it was so nice to hear from Jeanette, what a lovely young woman she had become. As you know, a teacher doesn't have favourites among their pupils and they do not remember them all, but Sarah was one of the 'special' ones who I will always remember. Ellen We remember Sarah from a little girl helping at Tools for Self Reliance and then much more recently as a beautiful and talented young woman singing at the Gosport Fairtrade Action fundraiser, - less than two years ago. Sarah and Charles

Mark, Jane this is a lovely memorial to Sarah. We attended her wedding to Si. It was a beautiful occasion - so much love there.
